Our trip to Owairaka Community Gardens

On Monday 11th April Room 25 headed down to Owairaka Park to do some work in the community gardens. We planted cauliflower and cabbage (thanks to Fatima's Mum Yuli for the plants). When these vegetables grow people in the community (including us!!!!) will get to pick them and eat them.

We also tidied up around the edges of the planting beds and we moved some mulch (this required lots of muscle power)! On our way home we picked up heaps of rubbish.

Later in the year we are hoping to plant some fruit trees - Stay tuned to hear more about this!

Massive thank you to Yuli (Fatima's Mum), Amino (Hibo's Mum), Miss Whysall and Heather who helped us have a great learning experience.

You made a difference today Room 25 - WELL DONE!

We made sure that after all our hard work we had time for a play in the playground!
