Blues Training Day 2017!

Jared (R25) and Tana (R22) came back to school looking extra awesome in their blues sunnies and wrist bands! Along with other kids from Owairaka they attended the blues rugby training today - What a fantastic opportunity! Two future rugby stars in the photo above perhaps?!

Our trip to the Owairaka Community Gardens

Each term, Room 25 has a trip to the Owairaka Community Gardens. Today we went to plant rhubarb plants donated by Bunnings. We have learnt that the gardens are a community resource, encouraging families to come together and share the produce. We feel proud that we can contribute to this initiative in our community.

Other activities we did during our trip were:
  • Sketching leaves, insects and trees
  • Using magnifying glasses to observe up close
  • Weeding
  • Mulching
  • Tidying up the park and picking up rubbish

Room 25 - Your efforts today were OUTSTANDING. Very proud of you all. Thank you to Jody (Niamh's Mum), Jyothi (Dhanishka's Mum), Erk and Hat (Lita's Dad and Mum) and Heather for helping us out, we couldn't do it without you!!
